The journal «Education in Nizhny Novgorod» has been published in the training literature and educational and methodical literature publishing center of the State Budgetary Educational Institution of additional professional education «Nizhny Novgorod Institute of Education Development» with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Nizhny Novgorod region since 2008.         

          From 2008 to 2018 the chief editor of the journal was Sergey Vasilievich Naumov, Doctor of Pedagogue, Professor, Skills Secretary of the Nizhny Novgorod region.

        From 2018 to 2019 the chief editor of the journal «Education in Nizhny Novgorod» was Nickolay Yurievich Barmin, Doctor of Sociology, Senior lecturer,  Head of the department of education management of the Nizhny Novgorod Institute of Education Development to 2019.

        Vera Viktorovna Nikolina —​ Doctor of Pedagogy, Professor of the Chair of Pedagogy and Andragogy of Nizhny Novgorod Institute of Education Development​ —​ has been appointed to the chief editor role of the journal «Nizhny Novgorod education» on 18th of June 2019.

         This periodical is registered by the Ministry of Communications and Mass Media in Russia. Accreditation certificate PI No. FS 77-36568 dated June 8, 2009.

           In 2009 the journal «Education in Nizhny Novgorod» was included in the Joint catalogue «The Russian Press» and now it is distributed through subscription.

            In 2010 the periodical joined the List of the leading Russian scientific journals under review, in which the main scientific results of theses for the academic degrees of Doctor and Candidate of Science must be published.

              The journal «Education in Nizhny Novgorod» places the data (metadata and full-text articles) in the Russian Science Citation Index database.

             In accordance with the list of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation approved on 01.12.2015 the journal accepts scientific articles on scientific specialties belonging to the group of scientific specialties.

            The main objective of the journal «Education in Nizhny Novgorod» is to render assistance to the Russian educational system modernization, specifically the sphere of the supplementary professional teachers’ education.
